Southampton University Mountaineering Club

Ever wanted to try rock climbing or mountaineering? Or are you a hardened pro looking to get out of Southampton once in a while? Either way, the University Mountaineering Club is for you. We cater for all abilities whether you are a competant climber or have never seen a mountain before.

Mountaineering is a diverse activity - from mountain walking to winter ice-climbing. Our programme of fortnightly trips reflects this and is as varied as the interests of our members. In the last year, our trips have ranged from sea cliff climbing in Cornwall, to sports climbing on Corsica, to Winter Mountaineering in Glen Coe and the Alps.

SUMC Membership Form, please return the completed form to the mountaineering pigeon hole with cash or cheque for £35 plus £5 for AU membership (if you do not already have AU lifetime membership yet). Cheques have to be payable to SUMC and the pigeon hole is in the student activities office in the bottom of the student union by the squash courts.
